GTA 6 and GTA RP: what it means for FiveM servers (2026)

GTA VI comes out on 19 November 2026. If you play GTA roleplay on FiveM, here's what we actually know, what hasn't been announced, and why nothing announced so far ends GTA V RP.

What's confirmed

Release date: 19 November 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Source: Rockstar Newswire (checked 16 Oct 2026).
Price: $79.99 (UK £69.99), described as a single-player experience. The Take-Two press release gives the $79.99 price and calls GTA VI a single-player experience; the UK price of £69.99 is from the BBC. Pre-load and physical copies arrive from 12 November 2026, per the same Take-Two release (checked 17 Oct 2026).
No PC version has been announced by Rockstar. The official announcement lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Source: Take-Two press release (checked 16 Oct 2026). FiveM runs on PC, so there's no way to play GTA VI roleplay on FiveM at launch. Unconfirmed: GamesBeat reports, citing anonymous sources, that a PC version is planned for Q1 2027 (GamesBeat, checked 16 Oct 2026). Rockstar hasn't confirmed this.

What hasn't been announced

As of 17 October 2026 (checked on the Rockstar Newswire), Rockstar hasn't announced a roleplay mode for GTA VI, and FiveM support hasn't been announced either. No online mode has been confirmed for launch (BBC, checked 17 Oct 2026). Treat any "GTA 6 RP server" you see advertised as unofficial until Rockstar or Cfx.re says otherwise.

So is GTA V roleplay dying?

Nothing announced so far ends it. GTA V RP runs on PC through FiveM, and every listing in our directory shows its live player count (or "Status unknown" when we can't get a reading), so you can check for yourself.

Rockstar is also backing GTA V roleplay directly. On 2 September 2026 it announced an official partnership with nopixel, with a "nopixel 5" closed beta playable through the Rockstar Games Launcher from 8 September 2026. That is a GTA V development, not GTA VI, and it runs through Rockstar's launcher rather than FiveM. Rockstar also says GTA Online will continue after GTA VI launches. A FiveM change landing first: Cfx Portal (21 October 2026)

Cfx.re says most of this change takes effect from 21 October 2026: server owners will manage their server name, description, tags (up to 5), language and images in the Cfx Portal. Cfx backfilled details where it had them; servers left blank show "Missing server data (must be configured in Portal)". Players will be able to search by tag. Source: Cfx.re forum announcement. If you run a server, set this up before the 21st so your listing doesn't go blank.
